Sodalite
Blue tones with lighter mottling make sodalite a useful contrasting material in polished decorative stone collections.

Know your material
Sodalite belongs to the feldspathoid minerals. Blue is its familiar decorative color, although the mineral can occur in other colors. A blue appearance alone is not an identification of lapis lazuli.
The look of the stone
Blue patches can appear beside white, pale gray or darker areas. Polished pieces reveal different balances of the blue and surrounding lighter material.
Every piece has its own character.
The amount of blue, lighter mottling and surface pattern varies between small stones. Consider the whole assortment when planning a decorative color palette.
Color, finish & treatment
Check the SKU for size and pack weight. If treatment history or a particular blue range matters to your project, confirm it for the order rather than judging only from a styled image.
Everyday care
A little care goes a long way.
Use a soft cloth, avoid soaking, acids and harsh cleaners, and dry after gentle cleaning. Keep polished pieces from knocking against one another during transport.
