Know your material

Tourmaline is a group of related minerals, rather than a single composition. Black Tourmaline is the material name used for our dark tourmaline collection; this page does not assign a tested mineral species or mine origin to every piece.

The look of the stone

Columns can show dark textured sides and shaped ends, while spheres emphasize a rounded polished surface. Highlights can reveal brownish or lighter areas that are less visible in diffuse light.

Every piece has its own character.

Surface grooves, internal features, color and proportions vary. A column’s shape and a sphere’s polish create different appearances from the same material grouping.

Color, finish & treatment

Check the SKU for the finish, dimensions and quantity. Shaped columns should not be assumed to be unworked natural terminations. Decorative descriptions are not health or protection guarantees.

Everyday care

A little care goes a long way.

Support heavier pieces with both hands and keep spheres on a stable holder. Use a soft dry cloth; avoid impact, harsh chemicals and steam. Protect textured surfaces and shaped edges during storage.
